Manufacturing IT support for business systems, managed devices, secure access and tested backups. Connect office and operational teams with clear ownership.
For manufacturers and suppliers whose office, warehouse and operations teams depend on shared business systems.
Manufacturing IT support keeps the business technology behind orders, purchasing, scheduling and dispatch working together. BPro manages agreed accounts, business endpoints, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, network services and backup oversight. We document dependencies and coordinate with ERP and equipment vendors so an interruption reaches the right owner quickly.
/ Common situations
Where support needs to fit the way you work.
An order cannot move to dispatch
A user may be unable to reach the ERP application because of sign-in, workstation, connectivity or application trouble. We investigate the agreed IT layers, record the affected workflow and coordinate with the application provider. Your operations lead sets the business priority.
A shared workstation needs an update
An update that is routine in an office may interrupt a shift or conflict with a supported application. We identify the device owner, vendor restrictions and maintenance window before an approved change, with validation and a recovery route recorded.
A supplier needs system access
Persistent shared credentials make it difficult to control who can reach a system. We review approved access routes, named accounts, MFA where supported and expiry dates. Equipment access is agreed with the responsible manufacturer or specialist before changes are made.
/ How we work
A practical scope, then accountable delivery.
01
Map business dependencies
List business applications, identity services, file stores, supported endpoints and network connections. Identify the critical workflow, supplier contact and decision-maker for each service, including anything excluded from the agreement.
02
Stabilise the agreed IT environment
Prioritise account protection, endpoint health, patching, connectivity and backup visibility. Coordinate changes with your operating schedule and application suppliers rather than applying the same update policy to every device.
03
Test recovery and review changes
Select a representative business service or dataset, agree recovery objectives and test whether authorised users can work with the restored result. Review unresolved risks, recurring tickets and planned changes with the operations owner.
The starting checks
Find the account, device or network fault behind an unavailable business system
Plan updates around operating shifts and supplier constraints
Recover essential files and business services in an agreed order
/ Assessment scope
Trace the business systems behind orders and dispatch
Start with one important workflow and follow its accounts, devices, network and application dependencies. Separate the business IT that can be managed from equipment and industrial systems that require their own authorised specialist.
These are scoping examples. The proposal confirms which checks and records are included.
Manufacturing IT assessment checks and review records
Area to review
Practical check
Record to inspect
Order and dispatch access
Test an approved user's sign-in, business workstation and network path to the application.
A dependency map with ERP, IT and operations contacts.
An inventory showing vendor restrictions and approved exceptions.
Supplier access
Review named accounts, approval, MFA where supported and access expiry.
An access register with the responsible equipment or application vendor.
Business-service recovery
Restore selected data or a service into an approved test environment and validate usability.
A test record showing recovery time, recovered data and unresolved dependencies.
What to bring to the first discussion
List the business workflows that stop orders, purchasing or dispatch when unavailable.
Bring ERP and equipment-vendor contacts, shift schedules and maintenance restrictions.
Identify who approves access, production-impacting changes and recovery priorities.
Responsibilities to agree
Standard managed IT covers the agreed business environment. PLCs, SCADA, industrial controls, machine safety and production-process changes stay with your authorised specialists unless separately assessed and contracted. Network changes near those systems require their involvement.

/ Questions
Questions about IT support for manufacturing.
What is included in manufacturing IT support?
An agreed service can cover user support, business computers, identity, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, network monitoring, patching, backup oversight and vendor coordination. The proposal identifies supported systems, coverage, response targets and exceptions. Production machinery is not automatically included.
Can you work alongside our ERP provider?
Yes. BPro can investigate the supported account, device and network environment, document the issue and coordinate escalation to the ERP provider. Application development, database changes and specialist integrations need their own agreed scope and vendor approval.
Do you manage PLC, SCADA or industrial control systems?
These are not included in standard business IT support. We record the boundary between business IT and operational technology, then coordinate any dependency or access changes with your authorised equipment vendor or industrial specialist.
Can updates be planned around shifts?
We agree maintenance windows and approval rules around the systems and operating hours in scope. Where an urgent security issue cannot wait, the named business and technical owners decide the containment or change plan and record the operational impact.
How do you check that manufacturing business data can be recovered?
Identify the critical service, backup owner, dependencies and acceptable recovery time and data loss. Test a representative restore, validate access with an authorised user and record the result. A successful backup job alone does not prove the whole operation can recover.

The right mix depends on your systems, internal capacity, and risk. These pages explain the services most often relevant to this industry.
Before choosing a support plan, review our onboarding deliverables and sample service evidence. These show the records to ask for, rather than promising an outcome for your organisation.
Tell us what is working, what is at risk, and which systems your team cannot afford to lose. We will recommend a focused assessment and agree the next step.
